carburetor diaphragm vacuum plunger

Post by Berti44 » Wed May 25, 2022 4:28 pm

On my slingshot I could just change the rubber diaphragm but doesn’t look possible on Kat Carb?
Anyone ever replaced just the diaphragm, if so how?
Or any solutions other than expensive OE option.
I did buy a cheap set of 750ES carbs, not stripped those yet, are parts transferable? carburetor diaphragm vacuum plunger is silver as opposed to black plastic, maybe aluminium, I’ll know if I strip them.
Cheers
Berti.

The ES carbs are the same as the pop up ., you can change the diaphragms on the pop up but if you've got Es carbs there don't bother just swap the plunger over .

The plunger is the same alloy weather it is silver or gold in colour ....black plastic is for the later GSXR carbs .

Cheers fossie, my pop up plunger is black plastic, assuming these are the original carbs or maybe he swapped them. Don’t matter I guess.

The wife n me are on our way to France, Belgium Dinant, then Vosges Mountains. Can’t wait to get back and work on the pop up.

Ok so they are aftermarket ones which is good because they have done less work .
The OE black ones of which I spoke have a slide cut for the guides .
