Re: Anti-dive leak

Thanks guys - I'll drain down the forks and pull the anti-dives apart to see what state they're in. If I can get the seals matched up that's probably the best route and will also look at changing the clips. In the meantime I thought I'd try to fire the girl up but playtime ended early as petrol piss...

Anti-dive leak

Hi, I guess I'm not the first to come across a leaky anti-dive unit and wondered if the parts are available to service them. The leak looks to be from the breather hole on the rear of one of the anti-dive units giving a lovely slow dribble of oil down the leg. Have googled this and found lots of ref...

Re: Decals

I know, I know - I guess these things become a bit obsessive way beyond their value! The killer is that the bike is so original which is why I bought it - it's even got the original tyres, exhaust and shocks which were all taken off and boxed up back in the 80's when the guy fitted period bling like...

Re: Decals

It's a real pain to try and sort out I must admit. I guess it's not a very popular model so there aren't many good examples to compare or a wealth of restorers knowledge. I had two full bodywork sets (one now repainted incorrectly but very nicely!) and both look decidedly orange and not very faded s...

Re: Decals

Still trying to figure this one out! The painter checked with the decal supplier who are certain there is only one decal set for the GSX1100EZ but this is definitely different in many areas to the originals. I managed to get original Suzuki tank decals but even these are far more red than the origin...

Re: Decals

Thanks Pete,
Pulled out a spare tank from the shed and the EZ definitely is orange so I'll see how I get on with the painter.
Thanks for the link as well - interesting colour options!

Cheers,
Andy

Decals

Hi, Just had the GSX1100EZ bodywork back from the painters but I think they've used the wrong decals. The ones they have put on are red while I think they should be orange. I know it's not the Katana but I wondered if the Kat ones are red or if anyone knows the correct colour before I have a moan at...

Re: Anti dive

Thanks Pete,
It's a GSX1100EZ (the Kat's ugly sister?) but I believe the forks are the same as the Katana.
Cheers,
Andy

Anti dive

Stripped down the anti-dive units to clean and paint them and found that there is one part in them that's corroded beyond easy repair. It sits in between the two halves of the units with what looks like a chrome finish and it reduces the diameter of the main bore where the rubber diaphragm sits. Hop...

Re: Wheel Paint

Further update - RS have done the best match they could manage and I've just got to get time to prep and paint a sample wheel to see how it looks.
Will post a photo when done
Cheers again for help,
Andy
