Re: Help with bike ID and year

Thanks for all the comments guys, have decided to bite the bullet and get a Suzuki factory dating certificate. After speaking with quite a few folks, it seems that the bike is a 1987 SAE model but has an older front end, so will see if the certificate verifies this ;)

Thanks for the help

Re: Help with bike ID and year

How do date the wheels from the stamping marks, is there a letter code that relates to the year?

Re: Help with bike ID and year

In the information I can find about the 1987 SAE model, the only main difference between an early bike and this one is the cast pegs (and black top yoke) both of which mine has.

I found a Japanese advertisement online of the SAE.

Thanks for the help guys!

Re: Help with bike ID and year

Thanks Fossie - The bike has never been UK registered and I purchased it from from Unit 5 Moto who imported it from France. I lived in France for a while and know what you mean but it is possible with a great deal of work and effort. The problem is the VIN number being a 101*** which suggests that i...

Help with bike ID and year

Hi guys - been going round in circles a bit with trying to date my 1100 and establishing the model. I purchased the bike from a dealer in the UK who had imported it from France. They said it was a 1982 bike but once I looked at the frame and engine numbers (matching the vin plate) I cam to the concl...

Re: HELP!

Blocked pilot jet? Did you remove needles and place in wrong groove? HT leads back in wrong order?

Clutching at straws :)

Re: Flasher relay

The loom is the same as the diagram, so I guess if I order one for an SZ model I should be ok? Just looked on Robinson’s Foundry and they are so expensive, when Wemoto is only £10.....if it’s the right one ;)

Flasher relay

Guys just to check, the flasher relay should be three pin to match the block connector on the loom, as all the ones I’ve seen advertised are two pin?

Thanks again

Re: Master cylinder rebuilds

Sorry, just seen that you can attach files....Doh!
NRP have just said that they come from a 1994 SR Katana where the carbs were different, though I’m not sure how?
