Re: Stoner retiring
I was saying that he went from crasher to winner in 1 step. Basic aids on the 2006 Honda to full on traction control on the Ducati 2007 bike which was miles ahead of all the other teams (electronically) and on the best rubber for the year. Yes he won again on the Honda, but by 2011 they had the Duca...

On the road at last
After an aborted MOT last month, due to rain, finaly got the time to MOT my 1100 today. Bike had been started up but not even tried to the end of the street. No problems other than the noisy 5th gear seems to be worse than before, so looks like I will be using 4th a lot more for the time being. At l...

Re: Stoner retiring
He said its to do with changes to the way things are done and rule changes. For sure the guy is a great rider, but turn off all that electrickery and he would be on his arse, just look at what he was like on 500, jumps on the Ducati with all the goodies and hey presto instant hero. Still takes more ...

Exhaust Finish
Whats best for getting a good finish on an original 1100 exhaust system. Paint, powder, teflon coating, black chrome or ceramic. I am open to all ideas that have been tried and give a good almost factory look. Anyone tried any of the above and what result and cost ? I want to get the original on and...

Re: another on the road
MOT booked for next Wednesday. Got home after a week working away in Scotland to find the garage smelling of petrol and a stain under the bike on the nice carpet it sits on.
Typical Cat, p155ing on the carpet.

Re: Start up after rebuild
Checked the valve timing, when it wouldnt start and the plugs were dry.
Set up as per Haynes. Bit odd that the advance unit has two "T" marks 180 deg apart. Potential there to realy make a mess of things.
I'll check the pickups positions.

Re: Start up after rebuild
Mixture of problems. The biggest being the old fart who set it up. If I have the coils wired as per the Haynes manual, with the white wire for plugs 1 and 4, and the Black/Yellow for 2 and 3. It doesn't work. If I swap them over its fine. Is the manual wrong? Just the brakes to bleed, generato...
