Re: Get yer feet up & have a quiet read
Thanks for that. I did have some email correspondence with Ken in the earlier days of katanacentral.co.uk.
The ED-2 was restored by Target Design for a private musuen in Austria then the guy who owned that sold up. It would have been a good trip
to have seen it in Austria but too late now. A little further to go to the states to visit, but maybe one day.

Re: Get yer feet up & have a quiet read
i remember the new one in a box came up for auction and was discussed on the old forum. iirc wasnt it d+k that sold it? i know it wasnt from a dealer that he bought it, cos mcn asked fossie what he thought it would go for because nobody knew what they fetched new in the box, this is over 10 years ago so before prices started to spiral upwards, and he jokingly said it would go for over 10k, we all laughed till it eventually sold for £12.5k!!. fuck knows what it would fetch now.

I remember the conversation with the journo well, however what he wrote was what I said but not in the same order or context.....
He also missed out that the box said GS1000S which in the US could be a Kat. But elsewhere on the globe would be an ice cream van!!!

i think he has opened the box (so to speak) and it is a kat (cos its a gs1000sz) but being an american model it will have the cv carbs and not the slide carbs of the real 1000s.
