Re: Agm 2021
With limited time to go before the AGM , the response to topics or other items is astounding .....
Before it is mentioned .....correct it isn't my place as such but as a member of the club I have a reason , though it is the chairmans place to chair and a such make recommendations etc. Everyone should have a say

Re: Agm 2021
i dont think a lot of folk go onto websites and read these forums any more... i think they prefer facebook, instagram etc. i did add a post to the UK katana facebook page with info but tbh i dont know how its setup and used as it seems more a place to broadcast info opposed to use as a means of conversation. i dont have a solution as i check here for meetup dates etc as im aware of what happebns when on the clubs calendar.
Ive mentioned this before, and i also think part of the lack response is down to the lack of a newsletter. yes, i appreciated &*^%$ all has happened due to the recent bug etc etc blah blah bollox but if nothing else it acts as a reminder that the club still exists, that there is a forum to share projects and ideas, and that merch is available, and that AGM's still happen!... however with zero reminders, liltle will happen (imo) as folks just done think about it. i think somethinmg through the post would jolt folks' memory that we exist, even if its a double sided page of basic info... i certainly feel something should have been posted out advising of an agm. thats my opinion anyway... im never short of bollox to spew so make of it what you will

Re: Agm 2021
Yep that is my feelings aswell, but without a postal address or access it can't be done by myself or anyone else. An invite on a piece of paper or at the very least a personal email would go a long way .
As for lack of newsletter , I. Know some articles were submitted but it never got put together and sorted ,if time was an issue then others would have stepped in ....How will we ever know pop ups tracks of my years ? Gutted !

Re: Agm 2021
In all the years I did the newsletter the issue was the same as any clubs mags ....content from contributors . I overcame it by things like tracks of my years , katana named products , recommended items etc..But it ends up just one persons view. Don't get me wrong the finished editions were full of stuff from other sources and were indeed a valid project ....
The main point was information to non attendees and keeping a connection with members .
It all became a struggle for me when people wanted PDF versions so they could read them on their phones etc...not only was it above mine and my computers capabilities, I felt it split the club and those fossils like me got left behind. A limited printed version did get issued but the rot had set in .
The last 2 Prides were some of the most professional editions but was the bar set too high?
