Ok so it's August the countdown clock is running.
Ferries booked , check.
Katana serviced and readied......half a check!
Euros for Germany......
Krone for Denmark.....will just use ATM there, the rate is much the same with a one off fee. Limiting the left over Kronks.
Route planning .....
What time to depart ...for us 1400....it is only 2 hrs to Hull but need to clear Leeds/Bradford before the "Smart" motorway has time to clog everything up. Should get to port about 1630-1700
.where do we meet up in Holland and what time? If indeed we are going as I raiding party or are we carring out pincer movement?
Check route from Hamburg to Denmark...local knowledge says mucho roadworkio around Hamburg , but if you come out then over the Elbe via a ferry it is better....( will look in to that)

Just done a quick plan to get to Harwich Ferry for the East Angulars
Depart Sunny Sheringham at about 17.00
Meet up with Uncle Bob somewhere near Seastar Superbikes in Newton Flotman about 18.00
Then a 2 hour ish run down the A140 etc to Harwich for the 20.00 check in and meet up with The Southern Mob.

Arrival time is 08.00 the following morning, so adding an hour for the jolly matelot's to sort out the string and stuff, the Southern Crew should be on the road by 09.00 ish. 8-) 8-)

I'm happy to ride up on a bit of a easy tour and meet up with the Northern Raiders on the Thursday as due to work I have to get the Monday day ferry back to Blighty. So Sunday will be a mad old autobahn dash. Monday wont be much better as it looks like Stena advance the check in/boarding times to cope with volume of traffic

UB has foolishly agreed to accompany me..... :o :o

What could possibly go wrong?

Since I’m only a few miles up the road now, I’ll meet you at the port about 16:30. Getting slightly giddy now!

pretty sure I put my hand up but the past few months have been distracting so this trip has sort of crept up on me.

we sail at 23:00... if you're planning on a 20:00 meet are we maybe going to have a bite to eat before going to the dock? 3 hours is toooo long to sit in a boarding/check-in queue eh?

:) :)

Well, arrive at the start of check in through the passport/ticket, on-board, strap the bike down and get a seat for the oars at the front of the boat.....

Just had a look at the Stena website and they clearly advance the times to allow for increased summer volumes out and back. And I'd rather be on the boat watching the dock disappear than on the dock watching the boat disappear

But that was just starting point for times, quite happy to meet up somewhere on the A12/A120.

Somewhere near Colly as you're coming up from London direction?

I'll be off shift so not going to get involved with anything work related, but UB might be otherwise distracted. Hoping to get to talk to him soon to sort out times and stuff. I'm off shift from tomorrow so will be fairly easy to get in contact with...

Giddy, ask Su about who's giddy.
if at first you succeed, don't look suprised.

Looking through the posts Steve you have a hotel room on the way out and a cabin bed for the weekend. Don't know what your ferry booking was though.

Jim, UB, sparki,

We could meet at the dragonfly hotel, A12, Ardleigh, Colchester CO7 7QY. It's at the A12/A120 junction. I have stayed there before. Got a bar and restaurant.
