Looking through the posts Steve you have a hotel room on the way out and a cabin bed for the weekend. Don't know what your ferry booking was though.
cheers bud... it was the venue I was concerned about tbh, but as you say... theres a cabin bed so no need to slum it in a tent ;) - :)

ferry and return are sorted ;)

We could meet at the dragonfly hotel, A12, Ardleigh, Colchester CO7 7QY. It's at the A12/A120 junction. I have stayed there before. Got a bar and restaurant.
sounds a good idea... close to ferry and will be able to get a drink/meal before we're on the grog :)

Guys if you’re going to Harwich there’s a half decent cafe on the dockside that I used to use waiting for the crossing when I took the truck across. If you are there in good time it might be better to use that one in case they do decide to board early which isn’t unknown to happen.

Ferries booked , check.
Katana serviced and readied......half a check!
Euros for Germany......
Krone for Denmark.....will just use ATM there, the rate is much the same with a one off fee. Limiting the left over Kronks.
Route planning .....
What time to depart ...for us 1400....it is only 2 hrs to Hull but need to clear Leeds/Bradford before the "Smart" motorway has time to clog everything up. Should get to port about 1630-1700
.where do we meet up in Holland and what time? If indeed we are going as I raiding party or are we carring out pincer movement?
Check route from Hamburg to Denmark...local knowledge says mucho roadworkio around Hamburg , but if you come out then over the Elbe via a ferry it is better....( will look in to that)
what time dos the ferry leave hull fossie?

Disappointing reply to my post on the Dutch Kat owners club......
Plan formulating for future.. ;)

Hi Fossie, Thanks for sharing your plans with us and your invitation to come and join you. However as I replied to Pedda recently, there are no plans to visit the EuroKat as a collective due to lack of interest. Perhaps individual members or other Dutch Katana owners have developed their own plans, but I'm not aware of those.
So wishing you Brits lots of fun in Denmark, but also slightly sad to see you rush through our country without enjoying especially the rivers-area spanning East to West.

Shame about the dutch...

Anyway, Fossie posed the idea of whether the South and North can meet up or do a pincer movement! In a previous post he also mentioned some sight seeing on the way up, which I like the sound of rather than just looking at a motorway the whole way. So I will post a couple of ideas to see what the response is
  1. First Burg Benthiem ( https://www.burg-bentheim.de/ ) as I like castlely type things! This is just over the Dutch border into Germany after about 150 miles (so good lunch time stop). It's in a little town so less scope to get lost in a one-way system and traffic, so should hopefully have a few cafe's for those not liking castles, or while we Harwich bunch wait for the Hull bunch. All in easy reach so park up and walk to where you want to go. Google street view doesn't work so can't tell if it's a nice town or not.

Second option Paleis Het Loo ( https://www.paleishetloo.nl/ ) just North West of Apeldoorn in Holland after about 100 miles. Probably would have to use the cafes within the grounds as Apeldoorn looks little big to meet in.

Third option was maybe Arnham (though Kryten and me were looking at doing that on the way back).
Luggage could be issue but if some just want to sit and have a drink they can be minders (and maybe bought a drink to help).

Open to other options, I only looked close to the route Google suggests from Hook to Hamburg hotel.

1st option sounds like a good idea, UB.And like you say a good north/south meeting point.

First option sounds good, should be about right time to fuel up as well. I might have missed it but do we have the details of the stop over in Germany posted?
