Re: Scottish camping weekend.
Have a good Scottish rally. Remember to take some decent pics before you are too incapacitated to, as someone will need to do a write for the Autumn Pride
I'm off to Chimay in Belgium to watch the Classic Road racing there (on VStrom, not Katana),

Re: Scottish camping weekend.
Thanks Fossie for organising the Scottish trip. Had a great time. I am now in the lake District, guess what it's raining.

Re: Scottish camping weekend.
Well that was that .....A great location, the weather while we were there was as pre booked We had free run of the kitchen / toilet/ lounge of the club house.
Yep it proper rained during the night but waited for us to all be safely tucked up on a prefect mattress of the bowling green after an evening of beer, 3 course meal , beer , pool darts and a jukebox that catered for everyone....loudly'
Saturday was a walk for breakfast through the village Along the river. After which some played bowls, lazed in the hot sun ,went for a beer or a few, some went for a ride on the errrrrtwisty roads .
Evening same as the first a little bit more which led to a little bit worse.( pool and darts. )
Sunday departure most of us stayed dry. ......but some search out the wet stuff eh Keith!?
My only gripe would be the turnout ....don't get me wrong those who made it had a rather good weekend,, but there was no Scottish representatives , non of the Facebook crowd who said they were attending,
Which is why I have always said to organise an event , do it for yourself and if others turn up its a bonus, and it was!

Re: Scottish camping weekend.
i can only apologise for not turning up. id arranged my entire week around this rally, even agreeing to do a 24 hour shift on thursday to give me friday off, but the clutch on the kat gave up the ghost before i even got out of lancashire and i had to limp back home at 50mph with a slipping clutch. i managed to canibalise the bandit engine to get a set of steel plates and i had some new springs for the bandit that are now in the kat, not that it did me any good, it was saturday tea time before i got it done. i think im jinxed with katanas, everything else i have just works, beemer, i just hit the button, 1953 bsa, never broke down in 20 years, even the c15 is a reliable starter and clean runner now, but the kat is just one infuriating niggle after another. grrrrrrr. as i limped back up the m55 all i could think of was 'fucking 400 would have got me further than this........'fossie wrote: my only gripe would be the turnout ....don't get me wrong those who made it had a rather good weekend,, but there was no Scottish representatives , non of the Facebook crowd who said they were attending,

Re: Scottish camping weekend.
Hey mate sh*t happens and you let us know as did fluff, which wasn't nessecarry but polite...
As I said just a gripe....( it's not uncommon for me to whinge apparently. !). It is just there was FB interest and we are using this platform to get new interest. But there is obviously a gulf between writing and doing .
There's always another year.
