Re: Eurokat 9
nice one! UK it is then....
While i get the reasoning for Jockland, there is no-one up there that really wants to arrange one so why go there? Russ was happy to do Wales, as you are to do midfle england.... if there's a volunteer and a venue in somerset then why not there? the drink is good and is a fine part of the country... another consideration is the feckin' midges up north so not a winner imo.
if we're voting... i say somerset.
Where's the chairman when we need one ah

Re: Eurokat 9
Thinking out loud, our past E.Ks have been quite successful. Lymm Cheshire and Tonna Swansea. They were both held at rugby clubs. With that in mind, would it not be worth E-mailing some of the lower league clubs such as Ardrossan Academicals.. These places seem to fit our needs perfectly.
If we are planning foe next summer, we need to get a move on. Just saying.

Re: Eurokat 9
if giles has a venue with camping and a bar already, and if hes prepared to organise stuff, i dont see why not go for it, didnt they use to say in military circles that one volunteer was worth two pressed men?
scotland is great, but if theres nobody prepared to stand up and get involved in organising anything in their back yard then its not really practical. and theres a lot of choice north of the border, but you need to pick your time regarding the weather and the local bug life! you need somewhere coastal to really avoid the midges. plus its also worrth mentioning that scotland at the moment is absolutely awash with camper vans, we just came back and every other vehicle we saw was a lumbering motorhome, no fun on single track roads. somerset appeals to me cos its a decent run out to get there, but whatever we pick, we need someone local on the ground, and i kinda want to see what its like in cider country!
just me two pennorth.

Re: Eurokat 9
Hi all,
just a little message now that I'm home to say we had a great time in Dordogne.
We missed you guys !
Anyway, weather was perfect, just like the lovely roads there.
Eagerly waiting to see you, whether in Scotland, Sommerset, whatever, as long as we're reunited again (and I'm not talking about Brexit )
Cheers,
Alexandre

Re: Eurokat 9
Give it a week or so then we'll start a post in members section to get a discussion going and sort both location and organisers ....and dates of event and release of info to the masses.
In the meantime Give it some thought.
I reckon we can make it to the next EK
