BTW, where did you get the coils from and how much?

Have you figured out the root cause?

At that price, I am going to get some, just to rule one more thing out. I presume all mounting holes line up and the wires are correct?

I've found my old starter cable. It's a little more complicated than I remember, with two right-angle metal bends and an adjuster in the middle, plus a small spring. Venhill are probably going to want £50-60 to make a copy. Or there is one on ebay:

Postage is a bit steep, but he's got loads, so might be willing to do a deal.

If you still want to borrow my cable, PM me your address and I will send it to you.

Thanks for that ...let me message this dude first to see if we can work a deal on postage ,as he is outrageous with his fees for postage....
The mounts on the coils line up fine however I found on the righthand coil I had to use slightly longer bolts and build up the washers but no big deal really.....the leads were spot on ... they made a big difference to the bike .....very reasonable priced......

Did you try a new ignitor? I tested SmallKats one and it was dead, so he bought one of those Chinese ones on AliExpress and that seems to have fixed his issues.
My bike was getting harder to start, taking longer on turning over before starting. SmallKat said his was going like that before it stopped, so I bought a new one as well and now it fires straight up.
Hopefully over the winter I will look at trying to repair the old ones (capacitors and possibly the transistors)

For me, I think getting another Cdi ( which can be cheap enough ) is the best option , only because you've done everything else and come this far , it'd be a shame to give up after so much effort .

Of course closing the garage door and pretending it dosen't exsist is very appealing also.

Smallkat mate the definition of lunacy ...carrying out the same tests and expecting different results :D :D :D :D :D :) :D
