Fossie, you are right, but I think they have adjusted for it. Have a look at the white markers on my speedo to indicate 20, 30, 50 and 70.

Is this it?

And there is enough space for it to fit?

How does it work without a thread at both ends?

It has an external thread to the cable and an internal thread to the clocks .
Yep that'll do. There is enough space easily.

However we have had people but mainly one in recent memory who had a kph speedo and fitted this mph over lay , it read out by a large amount really .
That was PaulD wasn't it? - I think we deduced that his speedo internals were the US spec 80mph ones hence the issue he had.

Swapping just the clock face is fine one so long as the kph /mph line up (same angle of the needle from rest) - the easy ones are 80kph = 50mph and 160kph = 100mph

Personally I've never had an issue with reading kph and working out the mph - and leaving in kph is handy for the EuroKat's (that are in Euroland)!

The Paul D thing was never the wrong internals , once the new overlay was removed and a convertor added it was all good .

I suppose it depends on the quality of the actual suppliers overlay original drawings .....there must be more than 1 ...some better than others ....I wouldn't gamble £30 , when it's so easy to just convert by a spot of chalk or just remembering , which is why all mind are still kph .

Saying all that I think like small Kat the original posters picture seems to be well lined up, so maybe from a better supplier ..or it's been sorted ... ;)

I have a memory like a sieve. I can never remember the conversion, apart from in top gear!

On the 400 it's easy, forget the speedo , if the needle on rev counter points at 3 your doing 30mph , it 4 you're doing 40 ...etc simples :? :D
