Post by Tonykat » Mon Feb 20, 2023 5:29 pm

Took the 250 for a run today and noticed upto 70mph rev counter steady (8000) but pass 70 needle becomes mad, bouncing around, any ideas?

The pulses that drive the rev counter are taken from the throttle side coils, the connection that goes to the TCI. (Not the orange striped lead, thats the 12v supply). Could be a loose connection here, on the TCI or the multi plug on the instrument cluster. Its the sort of rpm where coils and ht leads start to break down....
