Ride out

Post by Tonykat » Tue May 30, 2023 1:45 pm

Hi all, took the 400 and then the 250 for a run yesterday along the same route to compare, 400 seemed to handle better but the 250 does need fork seal and have to stiffen the rear. Have to work the 250 more but sounds like you’re going faster 😀. Haven’t ridden the 400 for a few years, forgot how well it handles, well pleased.

Yes, the 250 always feels like it's going fast!

250 is great for keeping your driving licence intact, 8000 rpm at 50mph in top gear  sounds like a formula one car beyond that, unfortunately Smallkat I don't have a picture :)

@tonykat I like the colour schemes on both those bikes you posted. What’s the story with them? We’re all baby Kats silver originally? I also notice the blue one has a black painted engine as opposed to silver. Eric

The 250 came in 2 colour ways , silver or the red and silver yoshimura honour colour way.
The 400 came in silver or gunmetal the gunmetal had the later black engine. The blue and silver in the picture was obviously a gunmetal once but repainted as a nod to the 1100 SD at sometime .

How different handling are the Bandit type wheels/tyres to the standard 400 items? Although anathama to the rivet counters I might just try my Bandit VC wheels in the Kat, I fancy a more modern feel.
