Those splines are definitely a Suzuki weak spot. It's bloody annoying on my X7. I have a not quite as bad shaft for it, but the engine has just been rebuilt (before I got the replacement shaft, which are like hens' teeth) and it's running quite nicely!

Eric, you are doing a great job.
You missed this one on Ebay then - looked unworn https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/176194720840 and the whole gearbox went for £66 inc postage - someone bagged an absolute bargain.

Rob, I'm so gutted I missed this. I could really do with a good 6th gear set as well. My 6th gear set was okay, but worn. I couldn't find a replacement when I rebuilt the engine. Oh well. I'll save a search term in ebay just in case another 'box turns up. My eye has been off the ball on X7 bits lately. I've sort of decided it's finished!

BTW, I have spare X7 or X5 wheels (I'll have to check sizes) if anyone wants one. Will need refurbing. Collection only but free.

are the GSX250S Katana engines the same (apart from the fake fins) as the GSX250R engines?
If so, I have a complete motor that you could rob the output shaft from.

Suzuki GSX750S Katana / Kettle mongrel
Suzuki TDRGV 250
