Frame repair……..

Excuse the pics in wrong order. I’ve two top tubes with manufactured kinks in them but one on the right hand side is the bent one and I’ll push it to where it needs to be. Question I need an answer for is the distance between the bolt centre’s in one of the pics. Can someone just measure me the exact distance the bolt holes centres should be, I’m guessing it’s 190mm to be precise, I’ve put a pic of a steel rule to show.
The other things are the foot rest frames, ones concave in a fashion and the other is convex. Can someone just do a visual check on their own to see if they are perfectly straight or have a gentle curve and if curved which way? Cheers for that.

It's his 250.

Sorry I was in the garage today and totally forgot about it. My 250 is buried under a pile of things, so I'll have to dig it out!
Do you still need those measures before I attempt that or did you get them else where..?

Yes I still need them. Is there any chance you can take pics of the rear foot rest hangers from lots of angles as I think they have a specific ’slope’ in their style as they stretch from the main frame outwards? Cheers and yes I should have said 250 but I presumed it was the same as a 400 as it’s in this ‘water sword’ section of bikes.

The 250 and 400 frames are different in many places....but the plastics are the same ..except side panels so that is where the differences must be frame wise.

Good to know. Although it baffles me why change things when they are similar?

A few reason why they are different, one being the Engines are not alike really the 250 is a generation before the 400 in essence....Another is the intended buyer , the 250 is a learner machine and as such in the Japanese market there are length and weight limitations .

Never thought length would be something of a focal point 🙄. It’s interesting nevertheless all which you’ve said.

Anyway I’ve got my frame nearly symmetrical and there’s still a few minor things to tweak. I removed the rear foot rest ‘triangles’ as they were very damaged and I’ll repair and refit but still needing a few bits of information regarding the exact distance apart they stick out out from the main frame. If anyone can tell me the bolt hole centre distance between the rest mounts that would help?

In the jap market legth is important tax wise....The Jap market 650 is 1.5" shorter than the rest of the world model to save wieght and length.... The jap market Suzuki Jimny is shorter and narrower than the Euro model to class a kei car and is lower tax ...So yep it's a thing!
