Footrest Lowering

Post by richardkati » Thu Dec 10, 2020 8:21 pm

Hi all,

Has anyone lowered the footrests on their 1100/1000? It looks possible to move them down 15mm just to ease the angle on the knees. I cannot decide whether to do this in stainless steel plate, or to weld up some steel bar like the originals. The limit to lowering is clearance to the exhaust.

Thanks,

What model do you have SZ or SD , as the pegs are different. I had some peg lowering brackets that fitted an S2 which is SD ....I gave them to a mate , however a quick search on eBay for foot peg lowering brought up loads of options .

The rider pegs fit both models though. If you need SZ pegs for testing or cutting purposes I have some spare :-)
It's faster to break than to repair.

Had a quick look and the kits I had moved the pegs forward a touch about 10mm Orso , and down about the same so they didn't foul the exhaust which is standard , if a 4-1 system was used then obviously more could have been allowed.

Thank you for the replies everyone. The kits I have see on Ebay or M&P have the disadvantage of not only lowering the pegs but moving them out wider as well. If I am wrong, please could somebody send me a link to the ones they have seen.

Thanks
