Oil Coolers on 1982 UK GSX1000S

Post by richardkati » Fri Dec 11, 2020 2:38 pm

Hi All,

Was an oil cooler standard on the UK GSX1000S with the round slide carbs? There are two mountings on the front frame down tubes, but I have seen one bike with no cooler, and then the one below which has one. Anyone know the answer?

Mine had one, but I don't know if it was an add on. I kinda think it wasn't because mine was super stock.

2010 Z1000 (50k miles, I think that is like 60 Kilometer's or so)

Mine does not have one. It has the plastic thingy that looks like an oil cooler (part number 94445-49300).

I know this is how my bike was originally, because my brother unpacked it from its crate, assembled it and did the PDI when the bike arrived new in the dealership in 1982.

Nothing screams poor workmanship quite like wrinkles in your duct tape.
