Re: Top yoke alternative for GSX1100SD?
I've done a top yoke conversion on my SD. I trawled eBay for a GS1000 top yoke and the seller assured me it was off a chain drive. When it came it wouldn't fit. Everything was right apart from the clamps wouldn't drop onto the forks. They were reamed out by a local engineer slightly then they went on perfectly. Now I'm not familiar with the differences between all the GS yokes but you may need to give the clock mounting points a good dose of looking at as it wasn't a simple plug and play installment for me.

Re: Top yoke alternative for GSX1100SD?
Thank you Nicky,
Top information & invaluable, there are so many alternatives where confusion can set in, especially as many outlets for used bikes parts of that era source their parts from the other side of the Atlantic where they continued to use the GS prefix for the sixteen valve head models...
... I shall not go further about some "Katana" branded models.
Thank you once again.

A bit off the wall here but have you tried putting the clip owns over the yokes as a few people have done ...it can be done now and costs nowt ...alters the handling a bit but not much .
Another option is look on Japanese sites for 750 Kat , they did conversions .

I thought momentarily about that but have had several near misses on bikes which have had that conversion in the past & being a shortie I have tried. I came to the conclusion that it was better to drop the bike at standstill than up the road at speed.... it is the primary reason I cannot enjoy US style customs, lowriders, etc., because I know there is a corner coming very soon.

.. . I'd better be careful of such an inference or the missus will be pulling me by my ear again.
