Throttle cables

Post by Savav2v1 » Mon Apr 15, 2024 12:18 pm

Seem to be having a bit of a senior moment but can't seem to find any push pull throttle cables for my 1100SZ, Robinsons only show just one and fowlers show none, can someone point me in the right direction please, many thanks

Do you run CV carbs (only one cable) or flatslides (push/pull recommended)?

If CV, just make sure the pullback spring got decent preload.

Vm33 smoothbores so push pull, apparently these were fitted to the bike from new with a yoshi exhaust and oil cooler.....there seems to be more bare wire at the carb end to wrap around the carb linkage than a standard cable (albeit a gsx1100et cable but they had similar cv carbs so guessing very similar ),thanks for the input

Contact Venhill they will make you new cables and keep the pattewrn so can be replicated later.
I did this on my S2 clutch cable as it has jap market higher bars on it, wasn't too expensive and should I need another it's just a call.

Yes your right thank you, found them on fowlers, so the whole right switch gear is katana 1000, thats interesting, so am i right in saying all 1100 are single throttle cables..

Yep all 1100 are single cable as the carbs are vacuum diaphram or CV , whereas UK 1000 manual carbs so to speak .
The confusion comes when you get a US market 1000 ( usually a grey import) as they were CV because the bike was actually an 1100 sleeved for different state laws.

Nice one, looks like someone went to a bit of trouble when they fitted the smoothbores then, again thanks for everyone's input
