Exhaust advice required....please.

My 83' 1100SD has the standard exhaust system, its in very good condition. My question is, should I keep this on the bike, its not used on short runs so condensation isn't a problem and is garaged. Or put the exhaust away and fit a, presumably, 4 into 1? If the latter, which is a decent system that won't break the bank or my skull when Mrs Bluesman spots it! and looks and sounds decent?

Probably personal preference.

If you want to show the bike seriously (stafford that kind of thing) then having standard pipes is probably useful.
If you are going to use the bike a lot whenever (euroKats etc) then as the whole bike will age, at selling time it possibly won't matter if the pipes are a little tatty as well.
If you are using on fine days with limited miles the standard will probably keep in nice condition if you look after them.
If you like the 4-into-1 sound then swapping them will be required.

When trying to sell the bike later on, my view, is if the bike is VGC so at the higher price range, standard pipes will help to sell the bike, if it's average then it won't make so much difference.

Thanks, I agree, it'll keep wearing the standard system 👍
