It was a bit of a bi*ch to start this morning, I'm going to need to set it up with a good service before it goes on the road.

As you can hear, it's sucking in a bit of air through the rubber(s), so I won't do anything to it today, but it should be an easy fix.

I know, it needs one desperately.

The old white box is still on the other 650 that my mate now has, I've arranged a rack for this one and then I'll have a look for a suitable relic* once it's on.

*Fibreglass I hope.

See told you it was a 650 seat that was modified by cutting the base.( Anorak or what?)

You need a 550 kat seat .

Don't worry people the rack is on order , from some dodgy geezer Manchester way , who happens to have one for 650 he don't need.


Oh coldsnail mate the forks you were going to stick on to save doing the fork seals won't fit in the yokes as those on the bike are 550 and narrower gauge than 650/750. Just a thought.

It looks like I'm nicking the yokes off my 1100 then.

Mind you, it might be easier to do the seals on this one as getting to the 1100 would involve a lot of moving stuff.

First of all, many thanks to Waltfen for the inlet rubbers.

I think I may have found the reason it was a pig to start (and only ran on 2 or 3, ending on one pot at the end).

There's a couple of rounded off screws to get two float bowls off, but I can't get to my tools without unloading the entire garage, so I'll get Andy (bolty on this forum) to have a go.
The tank's empty and I think is now clear, but I will add a inline filter when it goes back together.

I have also bought some genuine Suzuki seals and a pair of gaiters to do next week.

After an evening in the loft and a workmate, hammer and screwdriver attachments, I've got the tops and bottoms off. It's a shame I can't get the pilot jets out, but I need to find an 'in-between' screwdriver from my current selection.

Oh and 32 new screws :D

I've got to see andy at NRP in the week to get new float valves and jets for this 650 I got from Mark. Should I get you some ? Normally £45 ish full set , Saves doing job twice or more,

By the way on the bay at the mo are a set of GSX 400f clocks for £10 or so in Shaftsbury. They are the same as 650 except for white instead of red needles.

I'll have a crack with cleaning these, but I might need some pilot jets if they chew themselves up, the rest doesn't look that bad and should be OK once I've buzzed some carb cleaner through them.
