So the 400 is back together again, with the polished engine cases (were painted), Suzuki emblems on the side and some powder coated parts (mostly hidden but I did finally do the top yoke.

So this morning filled with oil and tried to start it, but no go. Took out a plug and no spark. I had repaired the signal generator cable as it had started to break so assumed I had broken it instead.

Had some work to do,so came back to it later, whipped off the tank and I think when I was running the sig gen cable, I must have had a senior moment as I had forgot to connect it up! Doh, but at least an easy fix. Still need to remove a snapped casing bolt, but MOT runs out Tuesday so need to get it to the test centre really - that can wait.

So I found some hills (in Norfolk!) to take a each side shot.

Photos still make it look better then it is generally, but for £700 it ain't bad.

Looks great Rob, my 250 had painted cases when I bought it as well, after a couple of tubes of solvol and some resin polish to protect they look shinyer than a shiny thing

I always thought the 250’s & 400’s where watercooled, that looks suspiciously aircooled?

I've had the 400 and 1100 next to each other and people haven't noticed! It is fairly well blended in.

If you are there Blix (or anyone else who had a 400 (maybe 250?)). Is there a easy way to remove the heel plates I'm not seeing? The rear bolt of the heel plate doesn't come all the way out before it hits the swing arm, so you can't remove it and hence can't get it off. I had thought about cleaning them up but if it means removing the shocks to lower or raise the swingarm out of the way, then I don't want to do it that much!
