Re: I’m not in Australia......
Unfortunately that is the PITA that is the EXIF Orientation flag! When you take a photo on your phone but are holding the phone the wrong way up the phone autocorrects the image with the EXIF Orientation flag (as it all ways knows what what is up but doesn't save it that way) so that programs that read this can display the correct way up. However not all programs read this so just display the photo sideways or upside down (I use the WhatsApp program on Windows 10 and this program fails to display according to the EXIF tag so often when I send images they then appear the wrong way round).
Google "jpeg orientation problem" for more info. You can get program to remove the tag then rotate them manually. In Windows 10 I tend to use the Snip tool to capture the image from the screen, save it to a temporary file and then use that, it is an extra pain but the easiest way for me.
Try taking images with the phone the other way up (if you normally have the capture button on the left try turning the phone through 180 degrees so its on the right (or vice versa)).
Bet you wish you hadn't asked!

Well thanks UB for the extensive reply.
Seems a far easier option to post up the photos and ask the reader to re-orientate their device!
