I went to a local bike show near Ipswich start of October, just after I saw the Intermot images of the new Kat and when I saw the GSX-S750 next to the GSX-S1000 on a Suzuki stand, I thought that a 750 would be fairly easy to do if they wanted to. Given the 750 is around £8k that would make it more accessible.

perhaps suzuki could have done the most obvious thing that i can see, and select the bike they wanted to base the new katana on before handing the design brief to Target to make a proper job of. i can see what they wanted to achieve, after all, we all have a kat in the garage (or two) but the one thing that the new katana seems to be clearly lacking is the touch of an actual designer.....

I agree it would have been nice to use Target again, as they did such a great job first time round :-) and kept that continuity. Against that is that the Popup (Katana 2.0?) wasn't Target, but again is it a real Katana (just wanted to lite the blue touch paper ;-) and I'm standing well back...)

So I have now added my vote having been and seen......even rode it.

What was my verdict/ vote , answer in next newsletter.
It would not be politically correct to mention my vote on this thread and now I can see the voting definitely marmite just like the original back in 1981./2.

My 250 Kat passed its mot today so I went for a little ride to my local (8 miles away!) Suzuki dealer and sat on the new Katana, got to admit I like it more in reality than in pictures and videos, but after getting off my 160kg Kat and getting on this 215kg bike it felt like a barge, still think that a 150bhp road bike is pointless in this country where speed cameras are everywhere, but the friendly bloke at the dealership said that they had sold three of them in just two weeks, so some people are out there who can afford a motorcycle that costs as much as a brand new family hatchback! it was weird that the dealer mentioned the secret compartment with wiring in the tailpiece that can be removed to fit a tail tidy, seems that a lot of people have a thing about the number plate holder
