Truly tragic, I also watched it live. It seems as though he was trying to pull the bike back up which caused the rear tyre to grip and spin hin him back into the path of oncoming riders. The real question though has to be, why did his helmet come off? my thoughts are with his family. RIP Marco.

in one of the clips that was during the bbc coverage on sunday shows one of the strap's anchor point was seperate from the shell.... it was clear that one anchor point was attached, the buckle was done up, but the other end was swinging in the wind as it were....

I believe the vultures have moved in to ebay all ready.
Selling off Marco signed stuff and the like at sky high prices.
