Post by Katman » Fri Feb 04, 2011 4:59 pm

Anyone have any experience of Medion computers? You know the cheap one's from Aldi.

They have an offer starting Sun for a high spec pc
It's got AMD Athlon 11 X4 quad core 3Ghz processor
4Gb memory
1 TB hard disc
AMD Radeon HD6450

stuff it specs are here
http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/sp ... _17502.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://aldi.medion.com/md8351/uk/?refPage=aldi" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Anyone who's had experience of them got any opinions?
I've looked thru' PC World, Comet, Currys etc but they can't match spec for price, just never sure about stuff from the cheap shops??

Processor is what makes or breaks a machine. That and the graphics cards. Situation is a bit like a golf or a skoda really. Same engine but differant badge :)

I would buy one if its a good price.

Get your butt down to Crystal Technology down in Billingshurst.

Add and remove the bits you need (or don't), but don't forget to add some Vodka And Tonic.

It's best if you give them a bell with your requirements and they will tell you what you need.

And the best thing is, if it goes wrong, they're just down the road.

Jez ive bought 3 of these from aldi mine now is a pentium 4 3.6ghz got to be 5 years old ive had no problems with any of the hardware they use all branded parts - sony, ati etc, AND importantly german made i can definately recommend them and i would get another!!
To be honest i dont know how they make them so cheap.

You can also look at what others they are selling on their website and its also worth checking out the medion one too!!
Hope that helps!

Lets be honest here the stuff stocked by Alsi AND Lidl (by this I mean power tools , motorcycle kit,DIY ,Skiing,etc,etc) is stuff made by other companies and is "over produce" Itis ,Used by these companies as loss leaders, it's so once you are in store to collect that PC or Jcket you will notice/buy other goods.
The next week there will another promotion to appeal to another section of the populace.

As a note my bike jacket , trousers , kidney belt , socks ,etc came from Lidl and is remarkably similar to Hein Gericke stuff £100 more expensive.

But we don't want people to know this otherwise the few items they get in go quickly and if popular next year are a touch more expensive , so ssssssssssssssssssssssssh!

I've bought a compressor, vertical drill, hydraulic car jack, air nut runner (windy gun) along with a load of other hand tools from Aldi.
I don't know what they would be like if used in a professional workshop but for weekend tinkering, they are brilliant value for money.
I'd be willing to bet that there digital and optic offers are just as good.
