Re: classic suzuki musclebike racing
theres a 190bhp kat in this weeks mcn being thrashed round a racetrack somewhere, apparently, despite it being 30 years old, its lapping just 3 seconds under the lap times of the world supersport boys!!

I used to do a bit of work with Pip Higham of Village Bike Shop fame in Walkdon, and the bugger threw a gauntlet down being the first person ever to top 200mph on a normally aspirated bike. It started out as a GSX1100et but with a host of development of course. I often popped up for a cuppa and advice on whatever I was building and one day he showed me an outbuilding full of scrap 1000S Katana crankcases. They were the proving pieces when he built the 6 cylinder 1100 that eventually made it into various magazines. So, with the prices of a GSX1000S being so high we have uncle Pip to thank :O) Ironically, his nephew Bill now runs a marine engine business from the Old School House that used to be Village Bike Shop but Pip was a star and a real nice fella too.
Keep them there big Kats beating the modern stuff, there's far more satisfaction in tuning by lathe and milling machine than plugging a laptop in ;O)
