Re: Driving licence category loss.
Why not carry your docs and licence with you? If you are asked , show at the time no hassle. It is a hassle to have to make another trip just to produce.
The photo licence is ID.
Maybe all the time in uniform where it was compulsory to have ID .. Everywhere else in Europe ID is carried can't why not here.

One more thing to carry & bike geasr isn't exactly inundated with pockets. Also the paper licemce wears out to quick if you carry it everywhere...besides last producer I got was probs 20 years ago or more

Re: Driving licence category loss.
i refuse on principle. if people started routinely carrying id, then plod would expect it. and i just dont trust the british police not to abuse any power they have. so, i dont carry mine and tell them nothing im not compelled to.

Re: Driving licence category loss.
i cant see the issue carrying a bit of plastic tbh.... goes in the wallet and that's on me always anyhow.... i've saved a number of trips to plod station by having it on me.. my time is worth more to me than making a special trip to show someone. each to their own and if it's principal based so much the better. me, i just carry it

Re: Driving licence category loss.
I have mine with me at all times and have produced it many times for many things ,nothing to do with Police being nosey.
Banks, shops, bureau de change, post office to name a few. It would piss me off to have to go to a police station, which we have none of in local vicinity, to produce at a later date.

I use mine as id for clubs...
Not anymore as proof of age I may add, but most clubs now have a policy where they id everyone

Re: Driving licence category loss.
When i'm at work (hgv driver) i have to have my digital tacho card (in use or not) with me all the time. Same with my cpc card, so i also carry my licence.
if at first you succeed, don't look suprised.

Re: Driving licence category loss.
my logic says, 'am i obliged to carry it?' and if the answer is no, i dont carry it.
