Its prob the side stand or clutch cut out switch though, or he's turned the ignition switch off on the R/hand switch, and forgotten............someone I know did that in Spain!

Had a mate with a GPz500 and had to rewire the clutch cut-off switch as that went wrong and stopped it starting. Had a GS550E and the kill switch went stoopid (water in it) that needed attention. Lastly does it have a sidestand switch that could be faultly.

Good job you didn't post on KatanaCentral - the Teapot lurks there and he has no mercy...

Yes I used to enjoy his "friendly banter" to the stray US citizens that would accidently post on the site. Not my alter ego though - I never did work out who he was...
