I've strapped boxes on like this many times, although i usually try to get the straps under the seat, much cheaper than a rack if you don't need pillion space :)

actually, most couriers i see have something similar, but not as secure!!!!!

I'd say well over secure that, the straps are overkill! When I put my top box on the pop up ,2x bugees sufifce. However he has saved work by leaving box on plate and attaching tie downs to plate.
Nice to see couriers around the world both dress and do things the same matt black with a colour included.
