Hi all. Sadly, after a period of poor health, I’m in a position where I have to reduce my bike numbers. My 1981 GS550MZ Kat is one of those that will be sold but I’m struggling to establish the current value.
It’s in very good condition, less than 12k miles. Serviced and MOT’d. Original bike including the original black chrome pipes. All in all very tidy - but not perfect.
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Ian

Re: What’s it worth?
Hi there , 550's were not really sort after in 1983 and while those that are still around with low milage in original nice condition may receive the most attention of anyone looking to buy one for nostalgia . Prices haven't really increased in the real world rather than those of the classic traders who insist on pricing £3000 ish....
What a bike is worth is what people will pay and you are willing to accept .
The value is a different thing and is rarely the same ....
Those 550that have sold recently have been about £1200- £ 1500 , but you may find the right guy at the right time
