Re: Sometimes carbs ...
Hairdryer, silicon grease/ spray , swear words ....threats , ratchet straps , pry bars..it's on a pop up getting the centre 2 air box rubbers around the throat ( which I would strangle if possible ) .
.
That said their isn't enough leverage to connect air box first then pull it to intakes complete .
It a main reason many pop ups on eBay have pods !
Tomorrow is another day .mmmmmmmmmmmm

Re: Sometimes carbs ...
the wintergreen oil trick is to restore the pliability of the rubbers to what they were like when they were new, look on youtube, theres plenty of vids explaining it, and its not a temporary fix like silicone or heat. once theyre softened, they seem to stay soft.

Re: Sometimes carbs ...
That's great info John, that I hadn't heard of before - been watching YouTube vids and have bought Wintergreen oil and some Isopropyl Alcohol. You just posted that at the right time for me, as the carb rubbers on the X7 are fairly solid, so going to see if that works. Cheers!johnr wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 4:01 pmthe wintergreen oil trick is to restore the pliability of the rubbers to what they were like when they were new, look on youtube, theres plenty of vids explaining it, and its not a temporary fix like silicone or heat. once theyre softened, they seem to stay soft.

Rob,
If it's carb to airbox rubbers, I have these:

£18 a pair inc post to you. Good quality, I use them on mine.
Legend motorcycles has the carb to barrel rubbers at a good price IIRC.
