I don't know how, I've googled it but WTF does "First, obtain the MAC addresses of each client from its operating system or configuration utility." mean???

OK I've now aquireda Netgear wireless router, a DG834G ver 4 & can get connected with it but the supplied username/password doesn't work to try to configure it. Neither does the wireless bit work which is the whole point of me using a router!!!

This is REALLY starting to pi55 me off!!!

new or 2nd hand? if 2nd hand maybe reset it to factory settings? default username:passwords for those are like admin:password or admin:admin if i recall. then attach a cable to it and log into it with whatever address the instructions tell you to. from there setup the wifi bit... when you say you cannot connect to it.... how are you trying to and what what happends? need more info to help further.

mac address is the unique address that each network card has be it wifi, bluetooth, lan etc.... you can get the address by going to the command prompt and typing in "ipconfig /all" and get the information written next to where it says "physical address"... there will be one for every network adaptor in the PC so you want the one thatis under the wireless section...
