Have to agree with you. I got my 400 a little over 2 years ago as a non-runner (knew it would be carbs!) for £700 and with a stainless yoshi pipe on it. I was hoping I might be able to pick up another one sometime as I love riding it but prices have gone too high just for a 2nd one.

I paid £1500 for my 250 three years ago, it's been a bit of a project bike (just had bodywork re-sprayed, new exhaust (ironically from dk for just £80) and some general tidying up including carbs ultrasonically cleaned) its cost me about £2200 up until now, last week a guy at Newlands Corner (a bikers spot near me) offered me £3000 for it, so maybe these little watercooled Kats are on the up :)

A quick update on my 400. Having eliminated the cdi as the problem, (many thanks to uncle bob) I went through the bike with a fine tooth comb and eventually found the fault in the windings. A black wire had declared brexit to go independent. But with the aid of a very hot soldering iron, it was persuaded to re-join the group and now all is well and I'm back on the road, or even E-bay, as they seem to be going for good money at the moment.
p.s. My S1 also decided to start, so as my luck is in, I'm off to buy a lottery ticket.

 :? What the hell........the 400 mentioned got bids up to £1950. But didn't reach reserve .......really.
Well today the bidding finally ended after relisting....................£2550. Yep you read that correctly £2550. No matter how many times I write it, it is still unbelievable......
So adding on registration of nearly £100 and MOT of £25 , carb cleaning with new floats valves etc £120 ( about ...minimum.) oil filters etc £100. Nearly £3000 for a bitsa 400! :o

Glad you found the problem and got it going again John. Got to be a keeper, too much fun to sell...

I saw that came back on again. I can't really see how it didn't get reserve last time and then goes all the way to £2550 the second? Classic Japanese stuff is really going for some silly money now.
