As I'm recovering from a bad back (fugging GT), I'm spending a lot of time on the floor so thought I'd try to sort out my vid collection...well there about the same level, shame TV's so damn high tho cos I'm gonna end up with crick in neck soon.

I've just found a tape of 1992 round of BSB from Brands, with the likes of McElnea on the Loctite YZF, Reynolds on the Kwak, R Dunlop on JPS Norton....bliss

So what do I need to transfer this from tape to PC & is there prog I can clean recording up with?

Prob loads of ways of doing it. but easiest would be to use a combined vcr and dvd writer machine.maybe someone you know has one.

or try:

There's a software company called Roxio that does all the conversion software. I think that you can get the leads as well to convert from SCART to component video as well.

The dvd/vcr combi is the easiest way but of course you'll only get vcr quality picture on the dvd.
To do a direct transfer you'd probably need a TV card (so you could tune to the tv channel) or an S-video card to plug your vcr into.
There are quite a few shops that'll do it for you at a not toooo silly price and they'll probably run it thro' an enhancement program if you ask but there's not a massive amount you can do to clean it up.
Hope this helps Jez.

Play it through a sony digital8 camcorder thats been reprogrammed to have the outputs used as inputs (dv in) either save it to the tape which will give you digital output OR use it as a pass through and record straight to hard disk :-) simples
