A terrible loss.
I watched it live and you could tell it wasn't going to be good news.
Rossi's body language said it all.
In my opinion a future world champion.

Marco Simoncelli RIP.

I think it was horrendous, don't know why he crossed the track like that but Collin and Rossi had nowhere to go, man this will run through their minds for a very long time.

Rest In Piece Simoncelli and god bless the family.

Having just seen the video of the accident, I can't see how he came back across the track like that??
Very sad to hear of a rider losing his life

He looks like he's hanging off badly before the crash?
Sad news :(

according to the beeb, he came off the bike when it lost grip, and then it gripped and instead of it sliding off the track it carreered back in front of rossi and edwards.

outrage

A tragedy indeed. Usually the bike goes down or the rider climbs back up. Im interested to find out if his helmet strap broke, slipped or was knocked off. Having to wear a larger size to fit his hair in wouldnt have helped matters none.

For those who either didn't see it or who haven't seen this vid, it has onboard footage from Alvaro Bautista's bike
He clearly lost the front, just seems weird how he came back across the track
