Was racing at Mallory this weekend, there was a an 1100sx there, looked it over and i'm sure it's Mark Owens old one, no pics but it had 750 frame and weird handlebars.
It had a bit of trouble with the flywheel nut kept coming off and then the ignition, but they got it sorted in the end.

Sounds like Marks eh?

BTW well done on the podiums Mal.

So...tell us what home made mods you did on the forks of the XJ. Ian (tank) and me reckon you went into your garage and found a pile of 2p pieces to use as spacers. But then we thought...nah, you'd be waaaaay to tight to use them

Did 8 races got 1 X Win, 4 x 2nds and 3 x 3rds :D

got better results at Lydden but Mallory was the best racing i've had so far.

I'm doing post classic 750 class for the rest of the season now, aswell as proddie 600.. don't know where i'm going to find the money but i'm addicted......again

Chris, the 2p peices thing is soooo last year
I welded up the damper tube holes and drilled them smaller, the idea is to be able to run lighter oil and control rebound better, but the result was more compression but rebound about the same, nothing more i can do as they're a really basic fork.. The bike handles pretty good now though, the only real problem with forks is say a tight hairpin with heavy braking the forks spring back a bit quick making it hard to stay on the best line, got the Penske R6 shock fitted too and it's alot better than std..

Nice one mate :D

Would one of those cartridge emulator things be any good (if they even do one for the XJ)??

Is there any scope for changing to a different front end in the rules??

thanks guys :D

I'll look into the cartridge emulators, think they're american made by racetech, although they're probably not stricktly withing the rules, i'd have to be careful as there's alot of cheating accusations going around about us front runners at the moment, don't know why some people can't accept some riders are just faster than others
