Now I know that we have access to some parts that we can get made aa a club. Fairing s and such. ButIafter talking to chris aabout my plans for my bike at weekend. It seems that some of the metal parts we dont have a provision for. I.e. screen braces and brackets and such.
So been wondering why this is?
And with being a metal worker I was wondering why the hell we dont start? I understand people want original parts. But quite frankly some original parts are past use be it through damage or lack of maintenance. So why not make new ones? Exact replicas but using new material
Just an idea

So that's racks, screen brackets, engine mounts, grab rails, crash bars.............
I'll have one of each of the above for a 1100 please!

Re: replica parts
Well obviously bobster will be baby steps at first but essentially I cant see why as a club we cant have a catalogue of parts that we can pick from if needs be.
Having an original of something to work off would make life easier as once measurements are taken future parts would be easy enough.
And yes blix. Other better materials can be employed. I made a set of engine brackets for someone a couple of years ago. And did them in stainless steel. Absolutely awesome. Bit of a pain to work but the end result was bob on.
Its the ramblings of a fool maybe but I can't see any reason why any of us should struggle for bits

Re: replica parts
they arent rare enough yet thats why. screen brackets are a casting which is going to cost more to replicate than to buy used from eblag. the stuff folk really want are things perhaps too complex to replicate, complete seats, original 4 into 2 exhausts, clocksets, tanks. pretty much everything else is stock ish gsx1100 stuff. panels and transfers are now available as replicas, and seat bases may soon be joining the list. but im struggling to think of a kat specific metal part that is in big demand aside from whats listed,
Re: replica parts
