mot pending

Not sure if I can qualify as a biker after this weekend !
Had the kat booked for mot thought everything was checked out, got my gear on and started to take it out for the first time to go to mot centre round the corner..
Got half a mile then it stopped. After trying to restart it several times the battery went flat.
Cancelled mot and walked it back home up a hill nearly killed myself.
Anyway after charging battery and checking electrics what did i forget to check ???
I had only put a bit of fuel in it to get it going i overlooked the fact that it actually needs it to run !

I will wager that most here have done similar at one time or another

When I picked up the sd from north yorks a few years ago I believed the seller when he said there was plenty of fuel in it. Ran out in the middle of Yorkshire dales. Phoned aa they asked fwhere I was, "dunno" I said, anything to identify where you are, "sheep" was reply, took them hrs to find me
