just out of interest, has anyone ever thought of using kat 1000 pistons to do a big bore on a pop up? quite randomly, ive got one of each piston in my hand. the kat 1000 is a couple of mm bigger in diamiter than the 750, but the height top to bottom of both pistons is the same, the deck height from the gudgeon pin to top surface is identical and the gudgeon pin is the same diamiter. so i reccon a modest overbore on a 750 barrel would get the 1000 pistons in. just thought id mention it.......

Did TTS not do an 840 kit years ago? Probably like hens teeth nowadays.
Might be worth risking an old set of barrels on trying it out and sounds like a reasonably feasible idea. Sounds like you think it would be doable.

im more wondering, considering how scarce 1000 pistons are, if you could get a 750 big boore kit into 1000 barrels to replace stock pistons.

750 big bore kits are very hard to find as well John but I imagine probably slightly more available than 1000 pistons......
I was going to try and drop the liners out of a 750 block and put 1100's in. Not sure if that's possible.
It also just so happens I have a wiseco big bore kit for a 750 on the shelf.........
Maybe I should get some measuring sticks out.
