Never underestimate your local bike shop.

I had to buy some rear shocks for one of the mopeds, a quick google throws up a price of £43.40, Ebay is around £55 and my local shop got them in today for £30+vat, or £36.

And I didn't have to wait in for a fellow Parcel Ninja* to kick them out of the van at ten to five...

* Parcel Ninja is a phrase I heard of a few weeks back after someone thanked me for almost knocking their door down instead of pressing the bell with a fairy's eyelash, posting card and running away.

i always use my local small bike shop. tyres and batteries oil and plugs etc, he is invariably cheaper than ebay by the time you add the postage on to it. and i use him for all my mot's too. been going there for over 25 years now!

Wish I was so lucky down here, my local bike shop in town is P&H Motorcycles, wouldn't touch these with a bargepole.

My next nearest "local" bike shop is T Northeast in next town, I've always used these for the MOT but their prices leave much to be desired...bikers round here used to have a saying about their N.A.T Northeast Added Tax cos some of their prices were higher then list!!
