Choke knob - which way round?

I was looking at the silver Katana model JohnR linked to ( viewtopic.php?f=40&t=7577 ) and looking at it I thought there's a lot of work there but who's going to tell them the choke knob is 180 degrees out.
I checked both my 1100's and the 400 and the knob is the other way - the indentation for the Choke label is nearer the "fat" end, so that is the way I fitted them (the Swiss 1100 was already that way).
However I checked the parts diagrams for the SZ and SD plus the 400 and that shows the choke knob the same way round as on that model and the indentation on the knob for the label is clearly nearer the "thin" end.
So from brand new in the showroom, which way round was it? Why does the indentation for the label change between what I have on my bikes and what the parts diagram shows. did it change between models?
Does anyone care? Possibly not, but interesting to see which way round everyone's is.
