Just a heads up to say that the November issue of classic motorcycle mechanics magazine on sale on the 16th October is a Katana special, there's a head to head between the original bike and the 2019 remix and lots of other Katana related articles. P.s I have no connection with the publication, just noticed it when I was looking through this months issue at the supermarket (admit it ,we all do that)

Shame they couldn't mention the actual UK Katana Owners club or at least a link, I thought CMM were trying to be a bit more proactive with clubs? After all we do cover ALL Kats whether air cooled or water cooled (or oil boilers in a special) and even the new one has a place.
They might get a letter from "the Teapot"...

considering the help we gave their former editor with his own katana build a few years back, a mention might have been nice. but, there you go, thats th media for you.

As I may have mentioned before I believe we are persona non grata as far a CMM go, for years we did articles for them gave them info attended their shows , but when ever they phoned me to get us to pay £100's to have a page advertisement for our club I would decline their " offer" .
What would it have achieved, people who read CMM are generally those who don't join clubs unless it is VJMC ...just to get the discounts .

CMM is the only mag I buy every month but it has in my opinion taken a dive since the previous editor the late Rob Gibson passed away. It was I think his Katana mentioned previously ? I know the “classic” thing is a rolling collection but I draw a limit on including R1’s GSXR1000’s and Ducati Panigali’s. It’s saving grace is through writers like Steve Cooper and a couple of others who’s name I can’t recall. One guy bought a Kawa H2 triple and slated it as slow and didn’t handle, his other bike is a Busa I believe!

yep, rod gibson was a nice guy, i had a lot of contact with him when he built the kat. if you find one of the articles, take a look in the little box where he credited his helpers, we were in it every month! cmm wasnt the same after he passed away.
