Has anyone got any good deals lately when renewing?
Mines coming up end of the month, so will be looking to hunt around for a sensible price and just wondering if anyone has done the legwork recently and found a decent company?
Thanks in advance.
Bob

Peter James every year for me , £150 for Smand and I to ride 7 Katanas , with national & international breakdown, and legal protection.
This is not agreed value but market value ....if you want agreed value it'll be more I suspect.
Also not riding other bikes .....but who'd let me anyway.

Peter James for me. I did increase the Agreed Values on my most of bikes that pushed up the price last year, but still happy. Mention the Kat club when getting a quote.

has anyone actually had the misfortune of having to claim with an "Agreed Value" and do they actually honour it??

Not yet!
You do have to send off photos and a condition report / form, they just don't take your word for it. These only last for 2 years and then you have to do the process again. Without those it's I guess market value and you have to argue with them. JMac did claim for his stolen 400 but I don't think he was on agreed value for that - not sure what they paid him in the end.

The truth is whatever you want it to be....the more you say it is worth the more you pay.
That said I get many enquiries as to insurance values and asking me to write a confirmation letter.
This is why I asked people to send back a form issue to you all asking what you valued you bikes at , from that I could form a modern realistic valuation.
However with about 20% replies it was a failed experiment.

I know what you mean Blix , by the way jmac got £1500 which was and is market value for a 400.
This is why I was trying to prove market value.....by having a written down survey that was researched we could ensured market values were controlled by us, the market but as it stands you estimate the value on the forms , which they then take as a start to negotiate , where as agreed that is the upper figure. It a haggling lottery , but we all know what we will accept for our individual machines , so that is our negotiating aim.

I’m with Carole Nash, they have a policy called “Six Wheel” (no not for a lorry lol)
You get your car and bikes insured on the same policy. I’ve got the car, Kat and my T500 all for £300 fully comp, breakdown, protected ncb & legal expenses etc and both bikes have an agreed value. I’ve used the breakdown service once when I blew my Z1300 up on the M6

when fossie lent me Poppy I was covered to ride it indefinitely with no extra charge. excellent service too.
