Crash Helmets at Petrol Stations

Post by Uncle Bob » Wed May 06, 2020 11:52 am

So discussion for the week...

Do you think certain petrol stations will still ask you to remove your PPE (crash helmet) in a post covid-19 mask up world - I'm sure we all have ones near us that ask for this to be done, which sometimes can be a pain if you just want a quick fill up without having to get ear plugs etc all back in and on again.

What made me think about that was, I went to the bank last week and although I took off my crash helmet, I did pull up my neck tube right up to the bridge of my nose just to see - stopped at the door to ask what I wanted to do which was pay some checks in and was directed to the self service machines without a word about removing the "mask" - 2 months ago that would not have been the case.

Made me wonder if petrol stations wouldn't bother anymore as well.

depends who is behind the till. atm everything is cv19 so nothing else seems to get a look in. give it a few months after the lockdown is lifted and suddenly casheers will want to assert their power again!

Collected my youngest from Heathrow Terminal 3 on his return from Ecuador about a month ago.

Walked in wearing a “Respro Bandit” smog mask and nobody took any notice of me. Not that long ago I would have been flattened by a SWAT team if I’d done that :?

I would be tempted if asked at a garage to remove my crash helmet to comply and immediately cover my face with a mask, just to be a provocative git

We don't get any bother around here either, but then I wear a flip up front helmet anyway.
Most bikers her don't use Morrisons because they are the only ones who winge.
If you don't want to remove the helmet then just use a pay at the pump option .
