Mystery sticker

Post by GSF34058 » Mon Oct 04, 2021 4:13 pm

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but here goes.....

I was sorting out a load of stuff today when I came across this packet. The Katana logos are self explanatory and match up with the part number on the packet, but there were these four 'Suzuki ANDF' stickers in there too. They may be luminous but I'm not sure of that yet.

Does anyone have any idea of what they might be from?

They where used on bikes fitted with Anti Nose Dive forks such as the Suzuki 750 1100 es ef. This differed from the pdf system by linking the front brake to the fork modulator supposedly restricting oil flow in the forks and stiffening them. Not entirely successfully.

Thanks Fred66.

Is Anti Nose Dive Forks on the 750 and 1100 es ef the same as the anti dive arrangement on my 1000SZ? If so where should the stickers go? Or was that up to the initial owner?

Thanks in advance.
David

p.s. I have charged them up under a light but they are not luminous.

The ANDF is mostly the same. The modulator changed from a roundish version to a squarish version over the model years.

The later stickers where rectangular rather than square. They fit on the fork lower at the same level as the Aunty Dive Modulator.
I seem to recall that there was only one sticker fitted on the LHS fork and none on the RHS.

So they should be good for your SZ. It'll keep the "Anorak/Rivet Counters" happy as well :D

Kryten is correct, only the left hand side so you have some spares.

Thanks chaps. As my SZ has the round modulators I will keep the left fork leg sticker free.

Suzuki probably only had enough stickers for the left hand Fork as David seems have all the rest :D

OK. Thanks again fred61 and Kryten.

I think I will keep my left hand fork leg sticker free for the time being. I will hold on to the stickers just in case I either refurbish the forks or feel the need to put the sticker on.

I will hold on to the other three stickers for a few more years until I can advertise them as 'rare' on the bay of E and make a small fortune!
