I blame Henry Cole and the twats in tweed waistcoats
You mean distinguished gentlemen surely?

Those earlier 'retro' triumphs even had fake carburettors that didn't work, just like a 250 / 400 katana

Ah yes, that was the phrase I was looking for
Can’t say I’ve seen one on a Kat though, they only ride brand new, old looking Trumpets, don’t they
I think your talking about hipsters I see them all day in west Los Angeles and North Hollywood
All dressed the same riding more or less the same bikes they have no idea why other than its trendy and everyone else does it
I however am a distinguished gentleman who rides an 81 uk spec Katana 1000 only once a year do I ride in tweed because it's bloody uncomfortable and when my jacket flies open it reveals my concealed carry weapon

Henry Cole did ride a Kat , he did an episode when he rode the one that was to raffled but went to auction instead alongside the new Kat with that chap Millward ....neither was enthusing the new one .
Dress code was however vintage distressed ..shabby chic..

It's all a myth. It's the igniter units that don't work. Or is it the coils? Oh, maybe it is the carbs. That's my diagnosis procedure anyway.

Don't know if i've set some sort of record here but after buying my 250 Kat over eight years ago and having the carbs ultrasonically cleaned and viton o-rings fitted straight away after 10000 kilometers (6200 miles) it still starts, stops and runs like a dream using esso supreme super unleaded fuel, it even survives each winter with just a quick drain of the float bowls, what's the phone number for the Guiness book of records ?
