You didn't mention the bargain price you paid either! That's one of the few bikes that shared the same front brake caliper as the 250 Katana (I had to get pistons and seal kit for the 250 and that was one I found that was the same).

How did you get it back in the end? Lex arranged a X7 for me last year but due to Covid restrictions in Holland still, I had to get it collected, which cost a lot more post Brexit ( £600 + £150 VAT and fees) than when I got the TZR250 collected in 2016 when we were in the EU ( £360 no VAT).

If you collected I'd be interested how you got on bringing it back through customs as I haven't found anyone who has done this yet (with an import bringing it across themselves). In theory with NOVA you should be able to bring it back without issues and then do NOVA within 14 days, but I wondered if customs at the port would view it that way.

Of course it has Kat parts fitted as standard , so is a distant cousin...the fuel tap/ switch is a Katana choke switch .., so as said just the fairing and who'd know ?

I did like them when they were launched, but the raked out front end put a lot of folk off as far as I can remember. Was looking at one at the NEC bike show and a lot of comments were made about it

well lex really helped me out by registering the bike to me with my address, so i had the dutch equivalent to the v5 in my name, in theory its just me bringing my bike into the uk. but i went to the ferry port at the hook and they checked my passport and waved me straight through. didnt ask me anything so i didnt say anything. when i got to harwich they just waved me off the boat and straight through customs without a word so i didnt stop to volunteer anything either. im not too sure what problems i could have had, after all i had the bike with the documents in my own name, but as they didnt ask, i cant really enlighten you any further. of course, now i need to go through nova, they say that i need to ring them and go through the details on the phone, but their helpline is down and has been all week, so ive downloaded the forms and im just going to fill them in and send them off to hmrc and see how i go on.
ironically, whilst over there i was offered another 80% complete gsx g for free, but i didnt take it cos he had no docs since he moved house, it was legit, just needed registering. had i known i would just breese through customs, id have got it too!!

and yes, it was a bit of a bargain!!

I remember one launch in Spain, where we ended up in a house of ill repute shall we say. Suzuki picked up the tab, so ensuring good reviews.
