Insurance...

Post by Bob1000 » Fri Feb 03, 2023 8:19 pm

It's come round again, any suggestions on the best companies out there at the mo?
Quoted £157 for the 1000, which seemed a bit steep.
I only pay £60 for an 800gs and the mileage isn't limited, plus I get euro breakdown cover for that (must be something to do with being an old git). Unfortunately the same company won't touch classic bikes.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Bob.

Peter James for me too. £317 for all the bikes, but I think it's the modified Buell that bumps up the price.

How are Peter James on modifications?

I’ve always insured my Kat with footman James previously and had my modifications listed and a guaranteed value.

Can't see it being much different than before, ultimately it's the same insurance company / underwriter, it only the commission each broker wants to load . It's only a call!

I had to send photo's of the TS185 (valued at £5500) and the X7 (£8000). Smallkat has a top yoke change with handlebar conversion. Buell has different handlebars, indicators, tail tidy and carbon bodywork. Since last insurance I have put the air filter system back to stock and the muffler is back to stock. Hopefully the price will come down a bit.

Right, now all sorted with Peter James, £124 unlimited mileage, which saves me over £30, so well worth it
Thanks for the advice and recommendations.
